What a time to be alive!
We are in unprecedented times with many things to tend to at all times. Perhaps your ‘known’ ways of being, doing, and having aren’t working for you anymore. Or perhaps you’re awakening in ways that are unfamiliar or confusing, leading you to feel unsteady and uncertain during these transformational times. There is a call beckoning us forward into more awakened ways of relating to ourselves and the world. Therapy can be a powerful conduit to these changes being called forth in you and in all of us.
It’s time for change.
It can be frustrating to know that you want and need change in your life, but feel uncertain or stuck in how to achieve it. Change is possible! Change occurs through self-engagement, conscious awareness, courage, and aligned action. You can have what you want by obtaining the awareness and tools you need and by beginning to relate to yourself and your life from an internal perspective vs. an external one.
We’ve all heard the flight attendants tell us to put our oxygen mask on first before helping others. This means we check in with ourselves and make sure we’re okay before moving on to other people. So many of us, especially women are oriented in the ‘other.’ We speak and behave in ways that are accommodating of others, often sacrificing our own needs and wants, we have a hard time saying ‘no’ or feel guilty about setting boundaries and stating a need (or maybe we don’t even know what we need!). We apologize with every other breath and have a hard time relaxing. We tend to check out and are constantly dealing with stress, burnout, anxiety and overwhelm. You are not alone! Together, we’ll co-create the life you’re looking for.

Is therapy right for you?
People often ask themselves whether therapy is right for them. We each have our unique path. Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is extremely important! I encourage everyone to interview potential therapists and go with the person who feels most authentic and a good fit for you.
Therapy varies among therapists as there are many ways of working with ourselves. I believe in healing through relationship, and that relationship starts with you.

Transpersonal Psychology is the acknowledgement and exploration of what’s beyond what we know as the self. It’s our connection with the divine, with nature, art, dance, music and all things trans (beyond) ourselves that we connect with and to.
Western transpersonal psychology has historical roots in the work of William James on the psychology of religious experience, Carl Jung’s work on archetypes and the collective unconscious, and Abraham Maslow’s work on self-actualization and peak experiences, among others including Stanislav Grof and R.D. Laing.
Transpersonal psychology investigates non-ordinary states of consciousness, such as those experienced during meditation, after ingesting psychedelics, or during peak performance such as optimal flow, as well as spiritual or religious experiences and mystical states (Hartelius, et al., 2013).
Some examples of Transpersonal Psychology are Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy, Buddhist Psychotherapy, and Expressive Arts just to name a few that I’m personally versed in.

Somatic psychotherapy is a body-oriented approach to therapy. The term “somatic” means “relating to the body.” Rather than only utilizing the mind (traditional talk therapy), somatic therapy incorporates the body where cellular memories are held and more easily transmuted when intentionally attended to.
Practitioners of somatic therapy view the mind and body as intrinsically linked. They also believe that trauma and other chronic negative emotions can get trapped inside our bodies and affect our mental health even further.
Somatic therapy is designed to help you heal on a cellular level.
After a traumatic event, the nervous system can get stuck in survival mode. This can wreak all sorts of havoc on our wellbeing (physical, emotional, spiritual). When the body is under this level of constant stress, physical symptoms begin to emerge.
Additionally, some of our negative experiences can produce deeply rooted beliefs that our conscious minds can’t even access. These might include negative or unhelpful thoughts, like “I’m a bad person” or “I’ll never be successful, “I’ll never have what I want”, “I don’t deserve love” or “I’m unworthy or not good enough.”
These negative feelings don’t just hide in the body, they emerge quite often. People who’ve experienced trauma have their symptoms reactivated during new stressful experiences. This can cause them to feel traumatized again and again.
Mental + Emotional + Spiritual = Physical
So in somatic therapy, we go to the physical in order to help unearth the root causes and release them from the system.

Are you ready?
It’s time to thrive!
I love building relationships and cultivating trust and transparency as a solid foundation together. I will always be honest with you and, sometimes, that means you won’t be happy with me or even like me. That’s okay; I’m not here to please you and tell you what you want to hear. I’m here to guide you through the change that you are seeking. The journey of transformation is not linear; there will be times of great change, challenge, wins, setbacks, fresh perspectives, resurfaced old patterns, new ways of relating, and awe-inspiring magic. If you’re willing to show up and do the work, I’m here for it and you; it’s my honor.
